Competition times and draws are posted on the notice boards.
Gentlemen's competitions are played on Sundays when the first tee is reserved between 11.30 and 3.30 p.m. The draw for most Sunday competitions is at 11.45 a.m. for a tee off at noon while for the remaining competitions a draw is posted on the notice board. The Summer League competition is played on Fridays with a draw at 4.50 p.m. apart from the first two competitions where the draw is at 4.30 p.m. In addition to these draws players may play at any time during the day by arranging partners.
Ladies Competitions are played on Wednesdays with draws at 10 a.m. & 4.00 p.m. from May to August and on Saturdays at 10.00 a.m. September to March.
Senior competitions are played on Thursdays with a draw at 9.30 a.m. during the winter from October to the end of April.
At the times above golfers are asked to give priority to competitors on the first and tenth tees.
Knock out competitions are played during the summer, the Coronation Cup, the Gerry Dickenson Cup and the Johnstone trophy (mixed) plus the ladies & gents championships.
Senior ladies and gentlemen meet on Thursdays in the winter. There is a membership fee of £5. Golfers play a league, each round over 15 holes by going to the third hole after playing the eighth first time round, avoiding the first, second and ninth holes on the hill. Three away days and two matches against Kirkcudbright and Newton Stewart are arranged.
Activities for junior golfers are arranged on Saturday mornings for all abilities. Coaching is given by club members and occasionally a club professional. Juniors play in adult competition when they reach a certain standard.
The Club does not lay down stringent rules regarding the dress of golfers and request that golfers dress in good taste tending towards smart and casual.
Preferred lies are in operation from 1st November to 30th April or at other times indicated by the committee.
