The Royal Burgh of New Galloway is situated in Southwest Scotland, lying to the west of Dumfries and 15 miles north of Castle Douglas. Castle Douglas is on the A75 Euro route between Dumfries/Gretna and Stranraer, the main ferry port to Northern Ireland.
St. John's Town of Dalry (3 miles) and Balmaclellan (1 Mile) are nearby.
How to get there
The post code is DG7 3RN for Satnav.
From Dumfries take the A75 towards Stranraer. Either turn off the A75 at Crocketford taking the A712 via Corsock to Ken Bridge (New Galloway) or continue to Castle Douglas turning right and northwards from the bypass on to the A713, signposted for Ayr. Pass Loch Ken to Ken Bridge.
From Glasgow take the A77 to Ayr and then take the A713 to Ken Bridge via Patna and Dalmellington.
The course is sign posted from the A713. Turn westwards at the Ken Bridge Hotel over the bridge and follow the main road around some corners, pass the bank and go southwards down the narrow main street A762 to the clubhouse, which is the last building on the right with the car park in front.
From Stranraer take the A712 at Newton Stewart through the Galloway Forest Park to New Galloway and turn right at the junction by the bank and Public Park.
From Laurieston take the A762 northwards where the clubhouse will be the first building on the left on entering the Royal Burgh of New Galloway.
